The Theme of Depression
By Charles R. Swindoll
Dr. Chuck Swindoll, Chancellor of Dallas Seminary and Senior Pastor Stonebriar Community Church, reminds us of the many biblical lives that have been touched and even paralyzed by depression. He shows us from the life of Elijah that even the godly will go through times of depression and fear, and yet we see that God remains faithful to His people regardless of what happens.
“I don’t know where you’re going to wind up in this crazy world. I don’t know whose life you’re going to touch, more than you can imagine. … But part of the effectiveness of your ministry will be the things you learn when you get discouraged that will give you depth that you would not otherwise have; it will give you understanding, it will take away your tendency to criticize, it will give you a heart.”
Run time for this talk is 44 minutes. The talk starts at 1:53 after an intro.
