Turning Truth into Experience
By Charles Price
Charles Price, of Living Truth Ministries, shares insights into the nature of faith, using examples from Exodus and Jesus’ parable of the mustard seed.
“Jesus said, ‘If you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mulberry tree, Be uprooted and planted in the sea, and it will obey you.’ The disciples said, ‘Increase our faith.’ He said, ‘If your faith is small as a grain of mustard seed.’ Mustard seed, I understand, was the smallest known seed in the Middle East. Five thousand mustard seeds will weigh one ounce. They say, ‘Lord, give us an increase, give us a big faith.’ And He says, ‘You don’t understand the nature of faith when you make that request, because the all-important thing is not the quantity of your faith; the all-important thing is the object in which you put that faith.’ And if you put mustard-seed-sized faith in God, God will work.”
