Is There Hope?
By N. T. Wright
An inspirational talk by N. T. Wright, speaking on the hope for the Christian life. Run time is 30 minutes.
“The Jesus who rose from the dead on Easter morning is stronger than all of the powers in heaven and on earth. And it is His will that there should be a world of justice and peace, and that we shouldn’t wait for God to do it all at the end; we can produce signs of it here and now.”
“Therefore, my beloved, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, because you know that in the Lord your labor is not in vain. … What you do for the kingdom of God, for the one person who lives down the street from you and is in deep need at the moment, for the people in your community who you can help this way or that, or for the global society … what you do in the present is not wasted; it will not be lost. When God makes the final new heavens and new earth, which will be His great gift, then what you have done will be somehow, in ways that we can’t imagine, part of that great picture.”
